About Us

Barr Transportation Corp. was founded in 1974 to service the transportation needs of the all new Auburn Steel in Auburn NY. What started out as a couple of trucks primarily hauling raw materials into the new plant for processing, quickly grew into trucks delivering the plant’s finished product. Over the span of 4 decades, Barr Transportation directed its focus on the flatbed freight industry, specializing in standard, as well as over-dimensional flatbed freight. While Barr continues to dedicate much of its outbound capacity to servicing a 40+ year partnership with NUCOR Steel in Auburn, NY, they also take pride in the local relationships they have made while bringing freight back into the area.

In the last decade, Barr Transportation has opened its maintenance facility to offer outside repair for fleets large and small. To many local companies, Barr has become more than just a place to get there equipment fixed, it has become a resource center, to help them streamline their transportation needs.

Barr Transportation was built on old fashioned principles, and continues to remain solid through hard work, honesty, and a dedication to customer service.
